पुणे/अमरावती: पुणे की एक एनिमेशन कंपनी में जॉब करने वाला युवक अपने फ्रेंड्स के साथ दिल्ली घूमने गया। वहां उसकी मुलाकात फ्रांस से दिल्ली घूमने आई एक लड़की से हुई। इसके बाद दोनों की मुलाकात फेसबुक पर प्यार में बदली और सोमवार शाम दोनों रजिस्टर्ड पद्धति से विवाह के बंधन में बंधे। ऐसे आगे बढ़ा दोनों का रिश्ता... ​

- मूल रुप से अमरावती के रहने वाले गौरव पारिसे पुणे में एक एनिमेशन कंपनी में जॉब करते हैं। - सितंबर 2015 में वे अपने दोस्तों के साथ दिल्ली घूमने गए थे। 
- वहीं उनकी मुलाकात फ्रांस के पैराडॉन चैबलोस की रहने वाली ओफेला रोबरो नाम की लड़की से हुई। वे भी अपने दोस्तों के साथ दिल्ली घूमने आई थी। 
- कुछ दिनों दिल्ली में रहने के बाद ओफेला अपने देश वापस चली गई। 
- कई हजार किलोमीटर दूर रहने के बावजूद दोनों फेसबुक और चैट के माध्यम से एक-दूसरे से जुड़े रहे। 
- तकरीबन 5 महीने तक चैटिंग के बाद दोनों ने एक दिन शादी करने का फैसला किया और अपनी इच्छा अपने परिजनों को बताई।
- घरवालों ने शादी के लिए हामी भी भर दी, जिसके बाद 25 मार्च को दोनों की सगाई मराठी परंपरा से बड़े धूमधाम से हुई।

फ्रांस में फिर करेंगे शादी

- सगाई के तकरीबन एक महीने बाद दोनों ने अमरावती मैरिज कोर्ट में जाकर शादी की।
- इस शादी में सिर्फ गौरव और ओफेला के फ्रेंड्स और पेरेंट्स ही शामिल हुए। 
- अब यह जोड़ा कुछ ही दिनों में फ्रांस वापस जाकर वहां के रीति-रिवाजों के अनुसार, शादी करने वाला है। 
- ओफेला के पिता एक मल्टीनेशनल कंपनी में जॉब करते हैं। शादी के बाद वे वहां एक ग्रैंड रिसेप्शन देंगे।

Raymond Starts Construction Of New Integrated Plant At Amravati

Country’s largest suiting maker and retailer Raymond has on Saturday (April 30) formally begun construction of its first large capacity integrated manufacturing facility at the newly announced textile park at Nandgaon Peth in Amravati in Maharashtra. The company, which is one of the top manufacturers of worsted suiting and cotton shirting fabrics in the world, said it will manufacture linen, cotton shirting and denim fabrics at this Rs 1400 crore facility besides housing its largest garmenting unit.

The new textile unit, which will come up at a 200 acre land in the textile park, will be able to provide some 8000 jobs, the company said. Raymond had signed a MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the Maharashtra government for setting up this facility at the occasion of the Centre sponsored Make-in-India conference and exhibition in Mumbai February.

“Partnering with the government in its Make-in-India initiative and Maharashtra’s endeavour to develop backward regions like Vidarbha, Raymond had committed this investment and I now thank chief minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis for laying foundation stone for the facility to take this project forward,” said Gautam Hari Singhania, chairman and managing director, Raymond on Saturday. 

Along with generation of multiple employment opportunities it (the new project) will contribute substantially to the overall development of the region, Singhania said adding that the group also plans to create top-quality educational facilities at this location for the benefit of Amravati district at large, once the operations here reach appropriate scale.

The Amravati project is in line with Raymond’s ongoing strategy to expand cotton textile manufacturing footprint by creating world-class Linen, cotton shirting, denim and garmenting.

“The new production facilities will provide employment potential exceeding 8000 workers with capital infusion of about 1400 crore in different phases,” said SK Gupta, CEO – cotton textile businesses, Raymond.

Raymond already operates a 45 million meters capacity denim fabric plant in the Vidarbha region at Yavatmal employing more than 2500 hands. Raymond sets up manufacturing facility in Amravati

Amravati: Textile giant Raymond has announced its expansion of cotton manufacturing footprint at Textile Park, Additional Industrial Area, Nandgaon Peth in Amravati. The Bhoomi Pujan was performed by Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis and Chairman & Managing Director, Raymond Ltd, Gautam Hari Singhania yesterday.

Speaking on the occasion, CM Fadnavis said that his government is planning to develop Amravati, infamous for farmer suicides, as a textiles city to promote this industry in cotton-growing areas of the Vidarbha region, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said.

"The state government is promoting textile industries in suicide-prone region of Vidarbha to give a value addition and alternate market linkage to the cotton growers of the region, on the lines of sugarcane belt of Western Maharashtra, to prevent farmers' suicide in the cotton-growing region of western part of Vidarbha," he said.

Singhania said that the plant is a part of PM Narendra Modi’s ambitious Make in India campaign and this will help in generating multiple employments in the region.

Swapnil Dhopade The Amravati Ace

Swapnil Dhopade The Amravati Ace It’s celebration time for Swapnil Dhopade, who has been officially recognised as India’s latest Grandmaster. The All India Chess Federation (AICF) secretary V Hariharan told The Hindu that he received the intimation from FIDE two days ago. Dhopade is the first from Vidarbha and fifth from Maharashtra to achieve the mark.

Presently competing in the IIFL Wealth Mumbai International Open Chess Tournament 2016, where he is leading by half a point after seven rounds, the 25-year-old youngster from Amravati says it was “sheer perseverance and support from my parents” that helped him achieve his dream.

After finally crossing the GM rating last October after an agonising wait following the completion of the norm way back in 2013, it was a case of “better late than never” for Dhopade. “While completing my International Master (IM) title, I had crossed the rating mark much earlier, but my last norm was remaining. At the time, I was quite dejected. There was even a point where I felt I would not be able to make a career out of chess,” he says.

Dhopade is also very happy for his good friend and fellow State-mate Shardul Gagare, who received his GM rating last month. “We played many tournaments together. He totally deserves it because he has been working very hard for the past few years.”

Dhopade himself realised the importance of hard work while trying to cross the magical figure of 2500 Elo points. At 2489 points, he was a mere 11 away from becoming GM in 2013 itself, but he slipped to 2418 after some poor results, leaving him frustrated and prolonging his wait for the GM recognition. During this tough period, it was his parents — Sunil and Hemlata — who encouraged him to go for the mark.

First steps

After starting his journey at the age of 10, Dhopade has indeed come a long way. “One day, I saw my friends playing the game, and became interested. I began playing in school competitions…and even won a few tournaments. After watching my dedication towards the game, my parents were confident that I could become an accomplished player, and soon hired a coach for me,” he says.

Omprakash Kakra, an experienced player himself, was his first coach, and Dhopade achieved his first international rating under his guidance. “Before learning the game from him, I had no idea about the scale of tournaments happening. So, he was the first to introduce me to all the big tournaments — national and international. That’s how my progression started. I used to train with him from 9 pm to 1 am, almost on all days. He (Kakra) was very passionate about what he was doing…and never took any credit for his efforts. I really started picking up the game after I began working with him.”

Dhopade presently practises alone, with Kakra becoming more of a mentor over the years. The 25-year-old also receives guidance from IM Anup Deshmukh from Nagpur, and GM RB Ramesh of Chennai.

Sacrifices

Like any other sportsperson, Dhopade has a hectic schedule, which involves travelling for many national and international tournaments. And his parents have made a lot of sacrifices to realise his dream. “We belong to a middle class family. First of all, I was lucky that my mom and dad both were having a job. They also accompanied me for many tournaments, taking leave from office and managing the workload. That wasn’t easy for them,” he says.

What advise would he give to those who have the talent to become an IM or GM, but end up missing their target by failing to reach the required rating barrier? “There are so many players in India who are very close to completing the IM or GM title. Some players complete the norm, but fail to cross the rating mark. Others cross the rating, but fail to complete the norm. So, the main thing is not to lose hope, because if a player completes even one IM norm or GM norm, he deserves to be a IM or GM. Sometimes, there are tournaments in which you play badly…and your rating comes down. So, you should identify the mistakes and figure out ways of solving them. I think having the right attitude will help them complete their titles,” Dhopade signs off.

First-ever ranking of educational institutions in April

Staff Reporter RESEARCH is the root of all quest. Hence, it has been included as one of the basic parameters in the National Institution Ranking Framework(NIRF).

Around 3,500 educational institutions across thecountry have submitted their data, and after analysis the first ever ranking of educational institutions in India will be declared in April, said Smriti Irani, Union Minister for Human Resource Development. Irani was speaking atthe inaugural ceremony of international conference on the theme ‘Research for Resurgence’ organised by Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal (BSM) at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) on Thursday evening.

Devendra Fadnavis, Chief Minister; and Aniruddha Deshpande,eminent educationist, were the guests of honour Pravin Datke, Mayor; Dr Mohanlal Chhipa, President of BSM;Vishram Jamdar,Chairman of the Board of Governors,VNIT; Ajay Sancheti, Rajya Sabha Member and Chairman of Reception Committee for the conference; Aravind Joshi, Organising Secretary of the conference; Dr S P Kane, Vice Chancellor of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU); Dr Uma Vaidya, Vice-Chancellor of Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU); Dr Mohan Khedkar, Vice-Chancellor, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University (SGBAU); Narendra Choudhary, Director of VNIT; Dr N V Kalyankar, Vice-Chancellor of Gondwana University; and other dignitaries also shared the dais on the occasion.

Irani informed the gathering of delegates from across the country that NIRF was a mechanism put in place for the first time in the historyof independent India. “Around 3,500 educational institutions have submitted their data, which is being analysed.We also encouraged the parents and students to let us know ranking of institutions as per their assessment. Now, the first ranking will be announced in April. I am happy to state that the ranking is based mainly on research output, industry-academia linkage, placement ratio, teaching and learning resources, and out reach and inclusivity,” she said.

Similarly, the Government of India had initiated several measures to bridge the gap in research and innovation between the schools and the universities. In next two months, Irani announced, the Government of India will make available 1,000 learning material resources for under-graduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students for free on online platform and through mobile applications. These platforms will also have model, new syllabus for educational institutions, along with the regulatory guidelines. Further,toensure that the learning material is available in Indian languages, ‘BharatVani’ platform is being developed.

On this platform, material for higher learning will be made available forfree in 22 Indian languages in next two weeks , and in 100 Indian languages in next three years,she said,evoking loud applause from the audience.

Appreciating BSM for organising an international conference on an important theme, the Union HRD Minister stressed upon the need to build bridge between science and the innovators not recognised as scientists. Indianresearch, she added, is not confined to formal academic set-up. There are many innovators.

There is a need to bring such innovators into a framework, support them, and give them due recognition, she stressed. She expected the Central educational institutions to contribute more actively in research, and adopt at least five villages each in the irvicinity to bring about positive changes in the life of villagers there.

She appealed to VNIT-Nagpur to join Maharashtra Government in efforts to tide over drought by way of research in water conservation. Irani came down heavily on those skeptical of Indian contribution to Science and Mathematics. “Why do we demean Indian research?” she asked. She also asked as to who should be blamed for lack of knowledge about India’s rich contribution to Science,Technology, Mathematics.

Instead of ridiculing ancient knowledge and criticising attempts to bring it to the fore in this era, she said, all sections in the country should celebrate Indian excellence and rich contribution, and build up further on that strength. At the outset, Ajay Sancheti made introductory remarks. Aravind Joshi introduced the guests,and Gayatri Kanetkar presented a song on the theme of the conference. Banwarilal Purohit, former Member of Parliament; Nago Ganar, MLC; Govindlal Agrawal, Anoop Kumar, Divisional Commissioner; Brijesh Dixit, Managing Director of Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation Limited; Rajiv Modi, Chairman and Managing Director of Cadilla Pharmaceuticals; Dr S R Wate, former Director of NEERI; Dr Tapas Nandy, and other dignitaries were present prominently in the programme.
